(born May 05)

The body of Christ was blessed with a divine gift when Rev. Dr. Willie E. McKay was born to The Late Patricia McKay-Gagum and Willie Payne in New Haven, CT. From his very birth, he was nurtured in the faith by his grandmother, The Late Lizzie Gatison McKay, and was deeply influenced by his grandfather, The Late Bishop Henry McKay, Sr. This remarkable man, one of the first African American pastors to build a church from the ground in Connecticut with his own hands in 1959, still located at 184 Butler Street, Hamden, CT, paved the way for Dr. McKay's spiritual journey. It was by divine appointment that Dr. McKay, at the tender age of 15, followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and delivered his first public sermon on December 4, 1989, a testament to his early dedication and faith.

Dr. McKay's commitment to his faith and community was not just a personal belief, but a way of life. For over 30 years, he was an active member at Joy Temple Church of Christ and Prayer Inc., New Haven, CT. His roles were diverse, serving as an Elder, a Business Administrator, and a highly effective fundraiser for large projects. His service extended from 1994-1996 under The Late Bishop Kenneth H. Moales Sr., a testament to his dedication and loyalty.

On October 16, 2005, Dr. McKay embarked on a new chapter of his faith journey. He founded the New Dimension Tabernacle Church, Woodbridge, CT, and served as its Senior Pastor for 18 years. From 2017 to 2023, while still pastoring his church and facing the challenges of a pandemic and personal loss, he assisted Overseer Kenneth H. Moales Jr. and the Cathedral of The Holy Spirit. His ministry covering since 2012 has been Grow International Fellowship of Churches, where Bishop Wesley Wiley is the presiding prelate. Despite the adversities, the anointing of God in his life continued to touch many lives through his preaching and teaching ministry.
